Making Art Mondays
Please join us for a series of six workshops on Mondays beginning on January 16th, 2011. Making Art Mondays are a series of workshops presented by the Alliance of Kings Artists and the Acadia University Art Gallery. Each session is focused on a specific project and is facilitated by an artist. The workshops are for adults and are structured as completely hands-on and interactive. Collaboration and idea exchange are encouraged.
Location: Acadia University Art Gallery art education room,
Beveridge Arts Centre RM 131 (unless noted).
Registration: Sessions are drop-in. Payment to be submitted at door.
Workshops are limited to 15 participants (unless noted).
Be sure to arrive 15 minutes before!

January 16: “A Favorite Face: woodblock printmaking”
An intensive one-night workshop for making an 8"x10" woodblock portrait of favorite person or animal, or a self-portrait. Artists must come with a small photo or photocopy of subject. Be prepared to transfer image to woodblock, carve image, and print image in the one evening. All materials supplied. No formal art experience required.
Facilitator: Bob Hainstock has taught a wide variety of printmaking techniques to professional and amateur artists throughout the Maritimes for almost 20 years. He is a graduate of Nova Scotia College of Art & Design, and is represented in galleries across Canada and the U.S.
