Art Camp: Textures & Materials

Under the guidance of professional artist Margaret Forsey, participants will experiment with a variety of materials and techniques, with a focus on fibre arts including felting, paper making and lanterns. They will spend time in local gardens and dykelands taking inspiration for their studio projects. Participants will also engage in activities in the Acadia University Art Gallery for the summer exhibition: Earthskins: Three Decades of Drawing by Susan Wood. On the last day of camp participants will mount a small exhibition of their work facilitated by Laurie Dalton, Director/Curator of the Acadia University Art Gallery.
All materials provide. Maximum of 10 participants.

Facilitator. This camp will be led by fibre artist Margaret Forsey. Forsey earned a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design (NSCAD) in Halifax in 2006. She specialized in Textiles, with a minor in Art History, and is now involved primarily with rug-hooking. Her current project focuses on a suite of works of portraits of family, friends and children.
