Topic: The Co-operative Difference.
2012 is the Year of the Co-op! Here in Nova Scotia, we have more than 350 co-operatives and credit unions employing over 4,000 people, with combined assets of over $2.5 billion (source: Nova Scotia Co-operative Council).

Presenters Debbie Raine, Melissa Stewart and Peter Hough will introduce us to the role Nova Scotia has played in the history of co-operatives and the role co-operatives play in Nova Scotia now. Co-ops take many forms, from large, multimillion-dollar companies to small and flexible community enterprises. Many existing businesses can be converted to co-ops, and some business owners choose a co-op as an exit strategy. Come find out about the different kinds of co-operatives and how they can work in business.
