Set in director Robert Guédiguian’s hometown of Marseille, this is a heartwarming portrait of working class life in contemporary France. Despite losing his job, union pensioner Michel, and wife Marie-Claire are content—with delightful children and grandchildren, plenty of close friends, pride of their union and political struggles. When two armed and masked young men shatter their happiness, Michel and Marie-Claire soon find that merely getting the assailants brought to justice is not enough for their consciences.
