Come and hear of the work of Dr. David Mensah and his wife Brenda, founders of G.R.I.D. (Ghana Rural Integrated Development) Hear David's amazing testimony, and listen to the vision that the Mensahs have for the development of God's work in Ghana!!

As a boy in his native country, Dr. Mensah, then known as Kwabena, was an orphan who struggled to gain freedom from his abusive uncle.
Fearing for his life, he managed to escape from his village only to fall into the hands of another uncle, a witch doctor, who introduced him to potent witchcraft and changed him into a young man to be feared.
By the age of 15 he was leader of a youth gang in the village of Bamboa in Northern Ghana that terrorized both humans and animals alike.
However, Kwabena became converted to Christianity on the street after learning of Yesu from an elderly Muslim man.
He left for Canada in 1979 with only $10 in his pocket, and ended up attending the Ontario Bible College, where he worked and studied hard to obtain his first degree.
He later married and with his wife, Brenda, came to Acadia Divinity College, where he obtained his master’s degree before returning to Ontario where he graduated with a PhD from the University of Toronto.
Before leaving Ghana for Canada Dr. Mensah and about 10 other street orphans made a covenant to help each other become educated and to return to their roots to help impoverished people in their homeland.
Years later that group evolved into a non-governmental agency called the Northern Empowerment Association (NEA), a Christian development organization that works with the poorest people in Ghana to help transform their communities and relieve their poverty.
NEA’s Canadian counterpart, which was formed in 1984 and was first called the Mensah Food and Orphanage Fund, is now known as the Ghana Rural Integrated Development (GRID).
Dr. Mensah is currently a director of both organizations.
Their work has resulted in great improvements for the people of northern Ghana thanks to various projects which have enabled them to be more self-sustaining.
Farms have been developed and cattle, emu, ostrich, chickens and pigs have been introduced to the area.
Schools and medical clinics have been built, about 30 churches have been established and there are now about 100 Christian chiefs, including Dr. Mensah, who work out their differences peacefully under his initiatives.
