Artist Talk: “Dr. Consonant Collects: Objects from the Repository of Wonders”
Susan Malmstrom, curator of The Repository of Wonders, a cabinet of curiosity currently on view in the Acadia University Art Gallery Annex will give a brief history of the collection. This will be followed by an artist’s perspective on collecting and displaying objects as installation/performance art.
Malmstrom holds a Master of Fine Arts in Visual Arts from the University of California at Irvine. She immigrated to Canada in 2004, and currently works and resides in Halifax.
The public talk is being presented in conjunction with HIST 3733: History of Museums and Collecting. A special thanks to the Department of History and Classics for their support of the talk.
