Halifax-based multiple award-winning Celtic supergroup Squid have established themselves as one of the most dynamic musical experiences on the East Coast and further. Combining Celtic drum-line, bagpipes, fiddle, Chapman Stick, Guitar and loads of percussion, Squid mesmerizes with stunning choreography and instrument tricks.
Exciting and innovative, Halifax’s Cassie and Maggie MacDonald have found the perfect balance between musical integrity and sheer entertainment. While exploring and testing the boundaries of traditional music, they bring a breath of fresh air to the genre with their original compositions and arrangements. Born to a family with a rich musical heritage, the girls have used their innate gifts as a springboard for their own brand of Celtic Roots music.
