Speakers Series (5:30-6:30): Jordan’s Natural Acres Free-Range and Fully Integrated Pasture Based System
Tyler Jordan and Betty Jordan of Jordan’s Natural Acres Family farm who raise grass fed beef, Eggs from free range layers, free range pork and chicken. We will talk about what the definition of free range is. What the current standards are. How other producers are meeting these standards. The problems with these standards. The challenges of free range including extra work involved and predators. How we go a step further with a fully integrated pasture based system, continuous moving and building our soil using our meat birds to fertilize the grass, the layers for insect control, the pigs for weed management and the cattle to mow the grass. We will wrap this up with encouraging people to visit their farmer to see how free range there operation is.
