The Worry Birds are a three piece folk band from Fall River, Nova Scotia. They play singable, original songs and they take their sweet time writing and arranging each one. Over the last three years, the band's repertoire has grown slowly and deliberately as busy lives have clashed with band practice. However, there is a common understanding within the group that most things “may take a while” and they have accepted this fact, albeit reluctantly. Their new CD, aptly-titled Imperfect, is a collection of ten original songs and one fiddle set from the band's first three years together. The inspiration for the songs is drawn from their own lives, experiences and people they know. The title of the disc reflects the band's desire to release a recording that sounds real and not overly-produced. Gunning was also insistent on maintaining the “human” element in the recording process. The result is a raw energy and drive that conjures up the excitement and dynamic elements of the band's live performances.
