A formidable figure in the field for 30 years, Dr. Edwards is co-founder and President of the Canadian Coalition for Nuclear Responsibility. CCNR, which is a not-for-profit organization, federally incorporated in 1978. It is dedicated to education and research on all issues related to nuclear energy, whether civilian or military -- including non-nuclear alternatives -- especially those pertaining to Canada. http://www.ccnr.org/
Dr Edwards has acted as a consultant to many governmental and non-governmental organizations. He has frequently appeared as an expert witness and has done educational and analytical work for aboriginal organizations. As one of Canada's best known experts on nuclear technology, uranium and weapons proliferation he was awarded the Nuclear-Free Future Award in the Education category in 2006. He teaches in the Faculty of Science at Vanier College in Montreal.
