The performance features amazing clowning and acrobatics from Philippe Trépanier, circus artist and graduate of the famed Montreal National Circus School. He has toured with the equestrian show Cavalia as a hand-to-hand acrobat and has also performed with Cirque de Soleil’s Zarkana in New York City. This one-hour performance, the second Family Series show of MIPAC’s 2016-17 season, was created by Trépanier and Director Yves Dagenais, the founder of the Clown Art Research Centre in Montreal.
Philippe plays an old employee in a theater where there will be a major international conference. While preparing the stage for this event, despite many blunders and incidents of all kinds, he is constantly distracted from his task, attracted by the only thing that interests him: playing. Playing in a theater, playing at being a guest speaker, playing with a diabolo, playing the video producer; for the fun of playing. Will someone finally discover his many talents? Hopefully!
Philippe est un vieil employé du théâtre où se tiendra une grande rencontre internationale. Tout en préparant la scène pour cet événement, malgré de nombreuses maladresses, gaucheries et incidents de toutes sortes, il est constamment dévié de sa tâche, attiré par la seule chose qui l'intéresse: le jeu. Jouer au théâtre, jouer au conférencier, jouer avec un diabolo, jouer à produire un clip. Peut-être que quelqu'un va enfin découvrir ses nombreux talents? Espèrons-le!
