Every purchase is a Gift to the World! Ten Thousand Villages offers fairly traded, unique home décor and gifts. Your purchase at the Barton Festival Sale will help skilled artisans in more than 30 countries.
The event, which is in its 10th year provides an opportunity for people to invest in the world from right here in our community. Purchases made during the sale invest in the lives of skilled artisans in Africa, Asia and Latin America, who receive a fair price for their work.
Shoppers will also learn more about skilled artisans which will showcase a beautiful assortment of musical instruments, pottery, jewellery, baskets, toys, crèches, and hand loomed textiles.
Ten Thousand Villages works with artisans who would otherwise be unemployed, or underemployed. We create opportunities in developing countries to earn an income by bringing their products and stories to our markets in North America.
This income helps pay for food, education, health care, and housing. All proceeds of the sale support artisans partnered with Ten Thousand Villages, the oldest and largest Fair Trade Organization in North America, (over 60 years). The sale owes its success to dedicated local volunteers.
