CentreStage Theatre presents – Bingo, The Musical
Direct from Off-Broadway comes a splashy, zippy, fun musical comedy about a colourful group of die-hard Bingo players and friends, Vern, Honey and Patsy, whose lives are thrown into a tizzy when a young stranger blows through their bingo hall and makes them confront their past. The show uses the backdrop of the bingo hall to explore the common threads of humanity in the concepts of friendship, family loyalty, competition, love and forgiveness.
This hilarious musical has songs that are outrageously funny that leave its audiences' pulses racing! There’s a real mix of musical styles from country love ballads to swing numbers to gospel rock to something that is oddly reminiscent of Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody. There'll be something there to appeal to everyone. Bingo, The Musical will appeal to most anyone, from young teens up. Younger kids might like the music but there are a few scenes with adult languages and situations.
Bingo, The Musical is directed by Stephen Abbass and stars Sharon Churchill, Donna-Lynne Holmes, Charlotte Embree, Ross Chapman, Mindy Vinqvist-Tymchuk, Beth Irvine, and Emily Oickle.
The show opens on Thursday, November 5th (pay what you can) and continues playing Friday and Saturday evenings at 8pm until December 12th. There will be two 2pm matinees on Sunday, November 29th and December 6th. There will be no show on Friday, November 13th or Saturday, November 14th.
