On the discussion:
One Book Nova Scotia is an annual, province-wide community reading program in which one book is chosen to be featured in libraries across Nova Scotia. The aim of 1BNS is to encourage literacy and a culture of reading in Nova Scotia as well as develop community through literary discussion. The books chosen by 1BNS to be the book Nova Scotians read are chosen in part based on their accessibility to ensure that as many Nova Scotians as possible can take part. The 'One Book' 2016 is The Deception of Livvy Higgs by Donna Morrissey.

Please go to the One Book Nova Scotia website at http://1bns.ca/ for more information.

Maggie Jean Neilson is the co-chair of One Book Nova Scotia and is an academic librarian at Acadia University.

On Everyday Citizenship:
Everyday Citizenship is a monthly speaker series, organized by the Social and Political Thought Program at Acadia University in conjunction with the Box of Delights bookstore. The series features exceptional residents of Wolfville and the greater Annapolis Valley, each with a unique perspective on what it means to live here, why their vision is worth sharing, and how we can make a real difference within our community. It is our hope that this series will be a place where the most exciting ideas in our community are disseminated, developed, and put to action; a space to strengthen the bonds of civil society and dispel the barriers that hold us apart.
