There are three cash prizes to be won.
1st Place: $6000
2nd Place: $3500
3rd Place: $500
HOW IT WORKS:
Who:
Anyone. All are welcome, High school, University, NSCC, entrepreneurs, and community members
What:
Select a team, problem solve using the Lean Canvas Model working with advisors and mentors. Teams will then prepare a pitch for the judges and the winning team could pocket $6000.
When:
12:00 noon Friday November 18th - 4pm Saturday November 19th
Where:
Fountain Commons, Acadia University - Wolfville, NS
Why:
A chance to solve industry problems while connecting with entrepreneurs, mentors, and potential business partners; and win cash prizes.
Event Timeline:
DAY ONE: NOVEMBER 18TH
11:00 AM - Registration Opens - Arrive at the venue, check in & grab some lunch
12:00 PM - Opening remarks. We'll review the agenda for the weekend and introduce the speakers, mentors and judges
12:15 PM - Problems are outlined. We will provide a list of current problems from industry, business, and government for you to solve
1:00 PM - Form teams of 2-4
2:00 PM - Review of Lean Canvas Model/ Parts of a Pitch / Judging criteria
3:00 PM - Start It Up! Teams get to work.
4:00 PM - Mentors arrive
5:00 PM - Dinner arrives
Continue working for the rest of the night. Late night pizza will arrive at 10pm.
DAY TWO: NOVEMBER 19TH
9:00 AM - Breakfast and check in with the teams
10:00 AM - More mentors arrive
11:45 AM - Lunch arrives
1:30 PM - ALL PRESENTATIONS MUST BE SUBMITTED ON USB OR ELECTRONICALLY
2:00 PM - Pitching / Judging
4:00 PM - Winners will be announced
