Heartfelt humor accompanies the journey of Muna, a single mother with infectious optimism and great spirit, who leaves the West Bank with dreams of a promised land in small town USA for her teen son, Fadi. But in the early days of the Iraq insurgency Muna and Fadi are subjected to the attitudinal consequences of the war when they reach America. With a world premiere and Grand Jury Prize at Sundance this feel-good debut feature went on to won the prestigious Critics’ Prize at Cannes (2009).
