In conjunction with our exhibit, please join us for an artist talk with Bob Hainstock.

In the solo exhibition, Emptying Landscapes: An Altered Place presents the artist explores shifting rural landscapes that have been subjected to human, environmental and social alterations.

Prior to his full time art practice, Hainstock was a journalist with daily newspapers in Western Canada, including 10 years as editor-publisher of one of Canada's largest farm papers. During his journalism career, Hainstock wrote extensively about rural culture, rural economics, and shifting political power because of rural depopulation.
