June is Aphasia Awareness Month. What is aphasia? Aphasia is an acquired communication disorder, most commonly caused by stroke. It can affect a person’s ability to speak, understand, read and write. As part of Aphasia Awareness Month, Aphasia Nova Scotia will be hosting aphasia mixers throughout the province, showcasing people with aphasia and their stories.
