Greg Mazel is a multi-reed virtuoso on all the saxophones and bass clarinet who is originally from Providence RI. He is dedicated to promoting and teaching and playing music, particularly jazz. He is the founder of the Mazel Musical Arts Society in Weymouth, NS. He has studied and performed with many of the of the true greats of modern jazz such as Jaki Byard and Jackie McLean, at the Hartt School of Music, Joseph Viola at Berklee College of music, performed with Helen Humes and Gatemouth Brown at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festivals, has been heard on NPR and in his ensemble and recording work throughout North America.

Taren Yelle was born in Digby, Nova Scotia, and was raised on both coasts of the US. She went to Lehigh University Bethlehem, PA, CCRI and Providence College, Providence, RI, St. Mary's and Dalhousie Universities of Halifax NS, and Berklee. She graduated with a BMUS in trombone performance from Dalhousie. She is a versatile multi instrumentalist and band leader and as a vocalist, sings with a really fresh take on everything -jazz standards , R&B or blues. After performing for years in Kumamoto, Japan and throughout New England, Taren has happily moved back to ruggedly beautiful Sou'west Nova Scotia .


Originally from Massachusetts Duncan J. Draper lived in Northern California for 25 years and was a go-to -accompanist for modern dance companies and dance schools in the SF bay area. He incorporates his knowledge of piano ,percussion, acoustic bass and other instrumentation in his performances and teaching work in schools and has recorded and performed with numerous San Francisco Bay area groups in genres from rock to jazz to samba to bluegrass . As a full time resident of Annapolis Royal, he has continued making music in many ensembles . He is delighted to discover that Greg Mazel and Taren Yelle, both world class musicians, could collaborate in this exploration of familiar and some forgotten tunes that would be fun to play for you.
