The Art of Gardening at Chanticleer.

This presentation is based on the book published by Timber Press written by the director and the Horticulturists of Chanticleer. This garden near Philadelphia has been called a place of pleasure and learning, relaxing and yet filled with ideas to take home. Design inspiration and innovative planting techniques form Chanticleer, one of the most romantic imaginative and exciting public gardens in America.

Presenter Joe Henderson has been a gardener/ horticulturist at Chanticleer for the past 21 years, maintaining and creating gardens at the Ponds, Asia, Rock Ledge and Creek areas of Chanticleer. He has a BS in Plant Science from University of Delaware and apprenticed as a jeweler before that. His interests are as varied as the gardens that he cares for. During the ‘slow’ months, he makes one-off forged metal work and woodwork for the garden.

Co-sponsored by the Annapolis Royal Historic Gardens, the Champlain Garden Club and the Atlantic Rhododendron & Horticulture Society.
