The movie focuses on an old man reading a story to an old woman in a nursing home. The story he reads follows young lovers Allie and Noah, who meet one evening at a carnival. Allie's parents disapprove of Noah and his family, and they move Allie away. Will the young lover's find their way back to each other? And how does the story relate to the older couple at the retirement home? Bring someone to cuddle, and a hanky, and your sense of romance.
