Making Art Mondays are a series of workshops presented by the Alliance of Kings Artists with support from the Nova Scotia Department of Tourism and Culture and the Acadia University Art Gallery. Each session is focused on a specific project and is facilitated by an artist. The workshops are for adults and are structured as completely hands-on and interactive. Collaboration and idea exchange are encouraged.

About this Workshop: Silk Fusion

Silk fusion is the process of creating a sheet of paper like material from pre-dyed silk fibre using a textile medium ( acrylic base). You can make paper that is used in a secondary process in art or sculpting, or you can work directly onto art boards for instant pictures. When dry the fused
material can be mixed with any other medium that will work with acrylic.
NB. Students must bring their own art board (10 x 12) and disposable brush.

Facilitator: Marilyn Rand has worked in the textile industry for over 35 years, and has had a lifelong interest in art and craft. The Rands have a flock of wool breed sheep and Marilyn teaches spinning, dyeing, and felting workshops on a regular basis.
