This is a notice of our 2011 Annual General Meeting. The Centre is located on the corner of Main Street and Highland Avenue. Parking is available on the opposite side of Main Street at the Festival Theatre. Once you get inside the Beveridge Arts Centre, follow the AVMBA signs to room # 244.
So why another AGM so soon??? Some of you attended our 2010 AGM this past November and helped to welcome the new board of directors, and provided ideas for the strategic direction of the club for the next few years. The last meeting went well, but was a bit overdue for that year. We are starting this year off right by getting the AGM ahead of the riding season, so you can help us provide the best service possible to the Valley trails and all of its riders. For those of you who paid your $20 annual membership in November, that will be applied to the 2011 membership dues, so you don't need to pay again.
Anyone interested in attending our AGM is welcome (member or not,) but we encourage you to purchase the $20 annual membership. For your $20 bucks you get these benefits:
§ The right to vote on issues, resolutions, board members, etc. at the AGM
§ The right to become a board member
§ Free access to weekly AVMBA guided group rides (non-members pay $5 to join the group ride)
§ Registration discounts at AVMBA events/races
§ Name in a hat at the AGM for door prizes
The official agenda is being crafted, but here's a snapshot of what we want to cover at the meeting:
Adoption of changes to bylaws and membership policy
Discussion on strategic direction for AVMBA over next three years- update on progress since November
2011 Projects Forecast (Trips for Kids, grant applications, cleanup- and improvement at the Links, work at the Gorge)
AVMBA event and race schedule release
Spring trail maintenance schedule
Door prize draws
