The Admiral Digby Museum will be holding their Annual General meeting 7:00pm, Tuesday, May 31 at 95 Montague Row.

Guest Speaker, Cliff Drysdale of Port George will be presenting the video "Born on the Breezes" the story of the world famous sailor Joshua Slocum. Slocum was born on North Mountain near Middleton, and grew up in Mount Hanley and Westport, Brier Island.

After an adventurous career as a tall ships Captain, Slocum set off in 1895 to become the first person to circumnavigate the globe alone. He subsequently wrote the classic book "Sailing Alone Around the World" that remains in print to this day.

Capt. Joshua Slocum continues to be the focus of many books and publications that recognize his daring, sailing navigation skills and significant literary importance.
