Music Outdoor Community
foodartnature@gmail.com
Engage your senses on a guided sound-walk and song-crafting experience led by some of the Annapolis Valley’s most-loved songwriters. Be inspired by nature’s sounds, sights and smells to create and record a new song with the group – no musical ability or experience required!
Experience Highlights:
- Engage your senses on a deep-listening walk in the Annapolis Valley. Take in sights, smells, and especially the sounds of flora, fauna, wind, and water in the beautiful Wabanaki-Acadian forest.
- Discover the music we all have inside of us with the help of expert guides in a relaxed and un-intimidating way. Freya Milliken is an up-and-coming musician and recent graduate from the Acadia University School of Music.
- Access ukuleles, shakers, and other percussion instruments or bring your own instrument if you’re able.
- Have fun as we create a new song together, with a digitally edited and mixed version to be shared with everyone.
- Get to know Music in Communities Cooperative a non-profit that strives to promote music literacy, present great live music, support under-represented voices, and strengthen communities through shared musical experiences.
- Enjoy wild-crafted teas and locally baked treats in the Brooklyn Community Hall.
