CentreStage Theatre presents Beauty and the Beast
The family musical Beauty and the Beast by Lani Brockman and Susan Bardsley, is a unique and hilarious adaption of the classic fairy tale with an important messages for young and old. This version is an adaptation of the original story of Beauty and the Beast, where Beauty has sisters whose only goal is to find a rich husband, and her loving father who has lost his fortune. We also encounter a very self-centered Beast, and his mother, a magical Queen. Deterring from the Disney version, this hour-long musical is suitable for children aged four and up.
Beauty and the Beast is directed by Collen Hagen, with accompaniment provided by Lorri Dunn. The cast includes Micaela Comeau, Melanie Seamone, Arthur Taggart, Geoff Ball, Katie Bray, Jennifer Weisner, Bronwyn Farcey, Lianne Thibodeau and Jana Hupman. Behind the scenes are Elva Kelly, Nicole Myra and Tim Hawkins.
Beauty and the Beast plays on Saturdays and Sundays at 2pm from June 4 to 19. Reservations are strongly recommended by phoning 678-8040.
