Stephen Butler Leacock, Canadian author and humourist, will long be remembered for his best selling book Sunshine Sketches of a Little Town, which is celebrating the 100th anniversary of its publication this year.
Nova Scotia native Richard Donat has appeared in theatres across Canada as well as movie and television roles in his 30+ year career. He also works frequently with Mermaid Theatre of Nova Scotia, having provided the taped narration for several of the company’s widely-travelled productions.
Donat’s readings of Leacock’s humourous works include selections from My Financial Career, Self-Made Men, and The New Food and of course Sunshine Sketches.
MIPAC is offering a “bring a friend for free” special offer for the presentation of “Leacock”. With the purchase of one ticket, a second will be provided at no charge. This is a great way to introduce audiences who are new to the MIPAC experience, as well as for groups to share an amusing yet economical evening.
