Band Together: B.C.WildfireBenefit
Thursday March 1, 2018  7pm - 10:30pm (3 Hours 30 Minutes)
Music Fundraiser / Charity Family Friendly Community

‘Band Together’ is a benefit show that will be held on behalf of Jesse Carlson’s parents, Jim and Sue. You may know Jesse as the other half of ‘Can Your Diamonds Talk To You’, as one of the members of the Mud Creek Boys, or as a sociology professor at Acadia. In July he heard news that his parents home, along with several buildings on their property, burned down in one of the many wildfires that plagued British Columbia this past summer. Unfortunately, they do not have insurance to cover the damages.
While working and living in Wolfville, Jesse has been active in the music community, playing live in a variety of contexts, including this past September’s Deep Roots Music Festival, as well as regular participation in the Noodle Guy jam. In this particularly stressful time for him and his family, we will be having a benefit show. The benefit will feature several local musicians including Zakary Miller, Porter Breau, The Mud Creek Boys and The Dearlies.
The event is licensed, and will also include a live cake auction, featuring the sought-after carrot cake from The Noodle Guy, a homemade pie made by Erin Patterson, and a delicious cake made by author of The Kitchen Party Cookbook, Jenny Osburn!
