Two story telling sessions about balance, talking sticks, talking circles, protocols and teachings by Mi'kmaw Elder Joe Michael: come for either one or both. The second will be a more detailed version of the first.
First session is at noon in the Acadia Room, the Board room on the top floor, and the second session begins at 1:30 pm in the classroom (next to the auditorium) on the bottom floor of the KC Irving Centre.
Retired RCMP officer Elder Joe Mike, the first Mi’kmaq to be sworn into the RCMP and to be a Pipe Carrier, has years of experience in restorative justice and traditional teachings, and is respected nation-wide for his holistic and all-inclusive practices and guidance. His talking sticks have homes the world over. A Maker of Customized Talking Sticks that have homes the world over, he is also an Indigenous Tourism Guide.
