Evergreen will be hosting a fundraiser for the Alzheimer's Society of Nova Scotia. The fundraiser is called "Walk for Memories". This is an ALS fundraiser that takes place each year and is a challenge among all Long Term Care facilities in the province to see who can raise the most donations for Alzheimer's.
Last year Evergreen raised over $6200 and won 1st place in the province! We are doing the same challenge again this year and will try to keep our 1st place title.
The event will consist of walking through the Evergreen gardens (starting at 10:00am) and along the path there will be signs posted with our resident's memories written on them. Following the walk will be a BBQ for a free will offering and live entertainment. Several draws for prizes will take place at our BBQ along with a door prize.
This event will take place RAIN or SHINE (no rain date).
Donations may be made online on the Alzheimer's Society website but make sure donors choose "Team Evergreen" when making their donation.
