DUE TO EXTREME WEATHER, postponed to February 11:
As part of his residency at ARTSPLACE, Ken Flett will offer our first Art Talk of 2023.
Ken will project images of his work and discuss his journey from photography to puppet making and stop motion animation.
“Regardless of the medium, I am most interested in making the invisible visible through my art and honouring the stories that would otherwise be lost and forgotten. I have begun to explore the art form of puppetry, where I bring together all aspects of my creative practice to consider storytelling through this complex medium,” says Flett.
Ken Flett is based in Bear River. His work explores the human condition through the things we discard. He is drawn to materials that hold a sense of history or storytelling, like a well-worn piece of leather or fabric that has faded from use.

In addition to his ART TALK on February 11, Ken's residency will culminate in an exhibition in our Library Gallery through to March 25. He also expects to offer a half-day workshop on stop animation in March. Details and date to be confirmed soon.
