Stratford Festival production starring Colm Feore.
Now that we've celebrated the Spring Equinox (and spring itself is almost here) ... we can get ready to welcome the 2022 Stratford Festival production of Shakespeare's Richard III - everyone's favourite "bad king"? TO the Al Whittle Theatre screen!
BONUS for this screening: At 6:30 p.m., Anthony Harding will be offering a preshow lecture that will be an illustrated introduction to the play, putting it in the context of Shakespeare's work for his company of actors and Elizabethan audiences' boundless appetite for dramatizations of English history.
This Stratford Festival production of the final play in Shakespeare's first historical tetralogy stars the renowned Canadian actor Colm Feore as Richard, Duke of Gloucester - the role previously taken by Antony Sher and many other great actors, most famously Laurence Olivier.
Masks are recommended.
