Bernie's Buddies helps kids live again after a death loss.
We are hosting a special kids' grief support event, in partnership with the Kings County Family Resource Centre and the Town of Berwick.
Kids ages 4 to 9 who are navigating big feelings due to the death of an important person in their lives are invited to join us. We will meet a therapy dog, move our bodies with yoga exercise, and listen and share our experiences we read "Eddie's Brave Journey - How One Little Elephant Learned All About Grief" (written by Randi Pearlman Wolfson).
Our focus will be on demystifying the grief experience while creating a sense of community with curiosity and respect.
As a thank you for joining us, each child will receive their very own copy of Eddie's Brave Journey to take home and read as often as they like with a caring adult to continue supportive grief conversations.
A resource sheet will also be available for families that includes a list of suggested websites with grief activities and tips that can be used at home or by a caring person in the child's life.
