Girls Who Code
Monday February 10, 2020  3:30pm - 5pm (1 Hour 30 Minutes)
Meeting / Club Wheelchair Accessible

Get the skills and confidence you need for a career with technology! This free 15-week after-school program is designed for girls with a wide range of computer science skills. In the Club, girls engage in fun and simple online coding tutorials, build community through interactive activities, learn about inspiring role models in tech, and work together to design solutions to real-world problems facing their communities.

Presented in partnership with Girls Who Code, a non-profit organization dedicated to closing the gender gap in technology by teaching computer science, bravery, and sisterhood. Charlotte Janes, Systems and Collections Access Coordinator with AVRL will facilitate these sessions.

The Girls Who Code curricula are particularly designed and intended to serve those who identify as female, regardless of gender assignment at birth or legal recognition, between the ages of 13 and 18. For more information on Girls Who Code eligibility, please see their website.

Please note that an email address is required, so course materials and further information may be emailed to participants throughout the program. No charge. Advanced registration is required; space is limited so pre-registration is required. Call the library during open hours at 902-532-2226 or register online.

**When AVRCE schools are closed due to inclement weather then *all children & teen* library programs for that day in that area will be cancelled.
