Please meet in the field.
The Clean Annapolis River Project (CARP) and Coastal Action are inviting the agricultural community and the public to attend a demonstration tour of controlled tile drainage (CTD); a beneficial farming practice that uses in-line water level control structures on artificial field drainage to manage groundwater levels in fields. Learn how this practice can reduce water use for irrigation, moderate runoff in stormwater events, and adapt farm operations to the effects of climate change. Other topics include carbon sequestration techniques, restoring riparian zones, and how to support biodiversity on your farm. Tour begins at 2pm. Registration is required, directions provided with registration. Contact project coordinator Marissa at marissamurphy@annapolisriver.ca or call the CARP office (902) 532-7533 to register.
