There will be a series of Recreational Fishery Advisory Council (RFAC) meetings held throughout the province this month so we can continue to hear from anglers on topics and issues important to you. Last year we changed the format of the meetings which provided even more opportunities to hear from local anglers. You have a vast knowledge of the sport fishery in your local area and an interest in the management of the Province’s sport fishery. The new format allowed more time to meet and interact with fisheries staff and learn more about our programs, projects and hatchery operations. It also provided our staff with valuable recommendations, many of which now form part of how we manage and promote the sport fishery of Nova Scotia.
We are pleased to invite you to the meeting for the Recreational Fishing Area closest to you.
Agenda topics will include:
• an overview of regulations changes;
• updates from biologists on research projects;
• an update from the hatchery closest to your area on enhancement activities;
• discussion on special projects; and
• an update of initiatives in place to grow our sportfishing industry
