Participants will learn the essentials of nonprofit financial management for Board members, including:
- Important regulations and annual filing requirements for nonprofit societies and charities;
- Nonprofit financial statements and accounting fundamentals;
- Nonprofit financial planning – methods and concerns;
- Important considerations when applying for funding;
- Important financial internal controls for board due diligence and to protect the organization.

About the presenter: Normand Gendron, MBA, CPA is an Assistant Professor of Accounting and Taxation at Mount Saint Vincent University and Coordinator of the Nonprofit Leadership Program and the university CVITP tax clinic. He has over 30 years of experience managing the accounting, finances, information technology, human resources, and program development for several charities and nonprofits, and for municipal government.
