Our next hike will be on Saturday, June 13 at Crystal Falls! We’ll be meeting at 9:00 am for introductions and should be back to our vehicles around 11 am. Crystal Falls is near Greenwood and Aylesford and is a relatively short hike from our gathering point: about 2 km in, then 2 km back out. What’s so wonderful about this particular hike is the midpoint, where after a fun descent, we’ll visit a gorgeous waterfall! We’ll spend some time hanging out by the waterfall, and folx often take that opportunity for a quick swim.
There is parking available at the trailhead if you go up the dirt road for a few seconds, but it is limited, and some of us may need to (safely) park on the side of Harmony Road. We’ll gather in the parking lot for introductions.
You’ll want to wear footwear that’s appropriate for a woodland trail; hiking poles are optional and may be helpful for the steep slope near the waterfall. As always, please dress for the weather, protect your skin, and consider wearing a bug/tick repellant. A small backpack to carry water and a snack is recommended, and if you’re considering swimming, I also suggest bringing a towel and a change of clothes.
Divinica LeBlanc (she/her) partners with community members to cocreate meaningful, land-based relationships. She works as an executive coach and a part-time faculty instructor in the Mi’kmaq territory of Sipekne’katik, where she observes the Peace and Friendship Treaties. Divinica values empathic connections where people feel safe to thrive as their authentic selves.
