As the holiday approaches, local food banks experience an increased demand for their services. Northeast Kings Education Centre is happy to announce the “Stuff the Bus” initiative in support of local food banks. Students and staff will be going door to door on December 3rd from 9a.m. to 12 p.m. to collect non-perishable food to support the local food bank. Students and staff will be going to communities that are in the Northeast Kings Education Centre catchment area, with the exception of Canning, as that will be covered by the Canning Fire Department’s annual Christmas food bank drive.
Food may also be dropped off to the mini bus on that day, at Save Easy in Kentville from 9 a. m. to 10:15 a.m. , and at Foote’s Farm Market, in Centreville from 10:30 a.m.to 11:30 a.m. The goal is to have the mini-bus back at the school by 12 p.m. full of food.
