A Music Nova Scotia Bringing it Home Concert
Swingology plays light and lively acoustic gypsy swing (with a great vocalist) – familiar, entertaining, happy, melodic music that is popular with all ages.

In the 1930s, gypsy guitarist Django Reinhardt revolutionized music by blending swing with gypsy passion and the sounds of the Parisian musette dance halls to create a unique style never since matched for its driving rhythm, inventiveness and excitement.
SWINGOLOGY, home-based in Nova Scotia, delivers Django's "gypsy swing" to new fans throughout Atlantic Canada and elsewhere. We strive to play authentically in the style of Django and the Hot Club Quintet. We appear regularly at clubs and venues in Nova Scotia, and for the last three years at the Atlantic Jazz Festival (Halifax). We are also available for private functions, weddings, swing dances, conventions, anniversary parties. Our lively gypsy jazz can brighten pretty much any event. We are equally adept at giving our all for concerts and dances as we are at quietly fading into the background when required.
Swingology consists of seven musicians – three gypsy guitars, violin, clarinet, bass, and vocals. We can fit the lineup to any needs, from the full complement of seven all the way down to a minimum of four (two guitars, violin, and bass). Below, you'll find bios of our regular members, plus our alumni.
