The Annapolis Valley Honour Choir will present their final spring concert, “Soundchants”.

“Soundchants” is a concert that explores the art of storytelling with music through poetry, prose, and sometimes, with no words at all. The program showcases the maturity and versatility of these young musicians and their ability to communicate meaningfully. The music in the first half was chosen due to the wonderful poetry of the texts - these songs are thought-provoking and explore questions about faith and the universe. The second part of the program highlights contemporary compositions from various cultures, including Hungary, Africa, America, Scandinavia and Canada. They focus on constructing a sort of soundscape, creating a unique and interesting aural experience for the audience and painting vivid pictures through music.

The Annapolis Valley Honour Choir is an instructional music program for students in grades 7 through 12, conducted by Heather Fraser. It emphasizes musical and vocal training through choral music and strives to enrich the artistic lives of its members, their families and communities.
