After School Program

3:00—5:00 p.m.
Mondays - Parks & Playgrounds (FREE*): Discover nature’s playground all year round! Through cooperative games, crafts, and outdoors activities, learn how to have fun and be active in the great outdoors. As we move through the seasons, look forward to scavenger hunts, camouflage games, planting, animal tracking, sledding, and snow shoeing. In exploring Wolfville’s parks, trails, and open spaces, learn how to respect nature while also and play using your imagination, curiosity, and sense of wonder.
Tuesdays - Art Works ($400**): Explore your artistic skill and creativity by learning how to use a variety of artistic mediums and letting your imagination run wild. Learn about prominent artists, both locally and globally, including their preferred styles, tools, and techniques. Use the world around you to inspire and create your very own artistic projects. Dream with us and you will develop your artistic mind and perspective. Art Works works with the Acadia University Art Gallery to explore exhibitions and participate in studio workshops.
Wednesdays - Imagine That ($400**): The sky’s the limit! Anything is possible in this program if you put your mind to it. Explore the world of science and technology through construction and experimentation. Using your imagination and the necessary tools, design and build your own creations. Experiment with ordinary materials and discover EXTRA-ordinary results. Throughout the year work with guest leaders and create special projects.
Thursdays - Off The Cuff ($400**): Everyone’s got a story to tell! Learn different ways of storytelling including those with words, such as acting and creative writing, and those without words, such as music and dance. Discover improvisation, one of the biggest features of storytelling and find out how easy it is to entertain with a story by participating in workshops with guest leaders. Throughout the year Off The Cuff will plan and present a number of parent/guardian performances.
Fridays - Games Galore (FREE*): Explore a variety of sports, games, and recreation activities and in this action packed afternoon. Develop fundamental movement and motor skills or master specific techniques and abilities as you learn new game guidelines and strategies. Enjoy program visits from local sport and recreational leaders as they work to get you moving! Appropriate clothing and footwear for physical activity required.
- Pick up for after school programs is at the Wolfville School Playground and no programs on early dismissal or inservice days.
- Where applicable, children will be separated into groups based on age and/or ability so they may explore After School activities appropriately.
