The Weekend with Shakespeare is a chance to work with Ken in the work he has been doing at the Stratford Shakespeare festival with Tim Carroll and in his direction at Two Planks and a Passion Theatre. While aimed at the professional or emerging actor, is also relevant to teachers and actors of Shakespeare at both the secondary and post-secondary levels. Hands-on and intensive, it is a chance to refine or learn new approaches.
Both the audition and Shakespeare workshops are led by Ken Schwartz, a two-time graduate of the National Theatre School of Canada and Merritt-Award winning director of recent productions such as As You Like It, The Iliad by Fire, Rockbound, The Crucible, and Beowulf for Two Planks and a Passion Theatre. He has recently completed two years at the Langham Program for Classical Direction at the Stratford Shakespeare Festival where he worked for two seasons with Tim Carroll, of Shakespeare’s Globe.
