Gallery / Exhibit
Gathering of all interested artists for sharing of ideas, Q&A and information in the Seminar Room of the lobby of the KC Irving Centre.
Human beings sometimes inadvertently create art in everyday life in common places. If you look closely you will find a visual sensibility in the way someone hangs laundry or the route a footpath is worn.
We invite Alliance of Kings County Artists to participate in the second year of this public art piece by creating or documenting a piece of “uncommon common art”. Artists are asked to create an original art piece or to find and document a piece of art that was inadvertently created in nature by human impact. Whether on private or public property all art locations need to be accessible to the public and located in the Annapolis Valley. Each art piece must have a human element and be created at minimal or no cost to the artist.
This is a community based environmental art piece, presented and organized by Alliance of Kings Artists (AKA). The final product will involve between 10 to 15 Valley artists each creating their own environmental art piece located in the Valley. A large, full color map featuring all of the art locations on one side and information about each individual art piece, the artist, and the sponsors on the other. The Map will be distributed throughout the Valley.
