The public are invited to learn about changes to the National Building Code of Canada 2010.
The changes, which come into effect January 1, 2014, include the introduction of a new section to Part 9 Houses and Small Buildings called Section 9.36 Energy Efficiency. The new section replaces the former Part 10 of the Nova Scotia Building Code Regulation.
Code changes include: Nominal/effective thermal resistance, air-tightness, heating/ventilation/air conditioning, service water heating and prescriptive trade-off and performance options to achieve compliance.
Interested attendees must register in advance by contacting Development & Building Services in person at 87 Cornwallis St., Kentville or by phoning (902) 690-6152.
