The Hannah Miller Memorial Hockey Tournament is held every year at Acadia University in honor of Hannah Miller, a spirited young lady from Port Williams who loved hockey. Hannah had just finished her first season of hockey in 2005 with the Acadia Minor Hockey Association when her life was taken far too soon by a car accident. The goal of the tournament is to create a fun filled day of hockey and activities for youth hockey players. The tournament also raises money for the Hannah Miller Memorial Fund. This is a not-for-profit fund in memory of Hannah that operates under a board of Acadia University Students, Acadia Minor Hockey Association, and Community members. The fund helps finance underprivileged hockey players in the AMHA, promotes female hockey, and awards a scholarship to an Acadia University Student.
