Event in Room: Court room
85 years later, to the day, a small lead box (measuring less than 20 cm all way around) which was placed in a block of Nictaux Granite to commemorate the building of the new senior high school in Kentville will be opened!
In early May 2014 the demolition of the remaining Kings County Academy buildings began and several objects of historic importance were saved from the site. One of these objects is this cornerstone and nestled into that granite block the small time capsule.
On June 19th, 2014 exactly 85 years after it was placed by those early giants of education Kings Historical Society President Kelly Bourassa, a trained conservator, will open the historic cache of items. There is no fee but a free-will offering will be greatly appreciated and will go towards the care of these objects.
