In an attempt to Connect Advance Grow, bringing more awareness and support for female student-athletes within our sporting community, we would like to announce: Acadia University: Women in Sport Gala Brunch.
Featuring Guest Speakers:
Keynote: Heather Moyse
Two–time Bobsleigh Olympic Gold Medalist, current member of Rugby Canada and former member of Cycling Canada.
Acadia Alumna: Cindy Tye (’94)
A member of the 1990 Acadia Women’s CIS Soccer Championship team, two-time CIS All-Canadian, member of Soccer Canada in 2001-02 and inducted into the 2010 Sport Nova Scotia Hall of Fame.
Our event will be focused on connecting Acadia alumni, current female varsity athletes and local female community athletes, to create a mentorship pipeline. We will acknowledge and celebrate the achievements of females who have demonstrated success at each of these levels. Through powerful messaging and networking conversations, we plan to share with the community the value that athletics brings to developing leaders, problem solving skills and a positive self-image. We aspire to have this event be a stepping stone for resources allocated toward female athletics.
