Weather Advisory has been busy playing dances, parties, community events and other occasions for the past five years.
The band currently consists of Sam on vocals and lead guitar, Sarah on keyboard and Jeff on drums.
With early practices and gigs coinciding with several blizzards and electrical storms, the group decided on the name Weather Advisory.
Weather Advisory plays a mix of cover tunes, as well as several originals. Band members live in Lunenburg County, but have been entertaining people locally, along the South Shore, as well as Digby and the Annapolis Valley. The band's music is influenced by a mixture of blues, rock and boogie musicians. The list includes John Lee Hooker, Chuck Berry, Jerry Lee Lewis, Otis Spann (piano player for Muddy Waters), and George Thorogood, to name a few. We also play covers from more mainstream bands such as the Beatles and Rolling Stones. We also play a few tunes from other artists such as one of our favourite Canadian musicians, Fred Eaglesmith.
