Event in Room: Great Hall
Education systems are a crucial part of our society, yet when we look at changing these systems, we often think mostly of their costs and structures. Acadia’s own Dr. Mary Green joins us to discuss how we can approach education reform from a more personal perspective.
Her recent book, "Caring Leadership in Turbulent Times: Tackling Neoliberal Education Reform", explores the need to reintroduce care and compassion in education policy-making. In this presentation, she challenges assumptions about equity and the caring and democratic nature of education.
This presentation will be of particular interest to educators—both current, past, and future—and those with an interest in how our educational systems can be improved.
This free Brown Bag Lunch is offered by Acadia Lifelong Learning (ALL). Community members age 50+ who enjoy the Brown Bag Lunch series are encouraged to consider joining ALL.
